Soon after the busy holiday retail season ends, the annual Consumer Electronics Show is held in Las Vegas. Vendors from all corners of the electronics industry gather to show their new and exciting products; some are market ready, others simply prototypes for future years. After all was said and done at CES this year, a couple of facts remain unchanged. First and foremost, even in an economic environment bordering on recession, people want their flat-screen TVs! The move to HD television continues faster and more furious than ever. With a wider selection of products and prices which continue to drop, there is no time like the present to upgrade your television. If you haven't experienced the benefits of HD programming, you are truely missing out. Secondly, the lines between the traditional audio and video products and computer products continues to blur. It's all about 'convergence'. People want to free their digital pictures and music stored on iTunes from the boundries of a small desktop LCD screen and an iPod. Home networking is becoming a large part of our business and we continue to invest in and work with products that allow our customers to enjoy the benefits of today's digital technologies. With many online vendors (including Apple) now gearing up to offer High Definition streaming movie rentals across the internet with the touch of a button, the days of running out to the video store to rent a DVD may be numbered. New products will be necessary to download, store, and playback these movies that can include the same high quality DeepColor video and new Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio lossless soundtracks that can be delivered through the HD DVD or Blue-Ray discs. We continue our march into the digital age...are you coming along?
